Frequently Asked Questions
CAN I TRANSFER RACES AFTER REGISTERING?
You can transfer from the ½ Marathon to the 5K, by emailing the Race Director. There will be no refund of the race registration fee difference. This change can also be made at Packet Pickup.
CAN I RECEIVE REFUND OR TRANSFER BY BIB NUMBER?
There are no refunds of race entry fee, or transfer of bib numbers allowed. A runner will be disqualified if he / she runs with another participant’s bib #.
In the event of any serious weather situation, including but not limited to lightning, icy or hazardous road conditions or flooding, the race will either have a delayed start or, depending on the intensity or severity of conditions, and decisions of local municipal government, be cancelled. The determination will be made by event Race Management Staff, and Local Officials.
If there are changes to the event schedule or cancellation due to a weather related event, all participants will be notified via email and updates will be posted on the event website as well as social media pages.
The staging of a race of this magnitude results in substantial expense prior to the actual race itself. Thus, if conditions force cancellation of the event, it is very likely that the financial impact on the race would not be any different than if the race was held without compromise.
Event cancellation could also occur if there are reported threats to local and national security. If elements occur as stated above, there will be no refunds of race entry fees.
By registering for this event you understand that all registration fees are non-refundable and we reserve the right to cancel the event completely, or a portion of the event specifically, when weather or other conditions as stated present a danger to participants and volunteers as a whole.
WILL THERE BE RACE MORNING REGISTRATION?
There is a cap of 1500 for the Half Marathon. Registration for the Half Marathon will be available at Friday afternoon Packet Pickup if cap has not been reached. Registration for 5K available up through 7:45 AM Race Morning.
Packet Pickup and Registration:
Friday afternoon from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at LP Field / Gate 1 East Concourse
Race Morning beginning at 6:00 AM – 7:45 AM [5K until 8:00AM] at same location as above.
CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET?
Yes, you will need to provide them with a copy of your confirmation email to present when picking up your packet.
WHAT WILL I RECEIVE AT PACKET PICKUP?
You will receive your assigned bib # and Timing Chip [Half Marathon & 5K]. Be sure to check your printed Bib Label for accuracy of registration information. Stop at the Striders Tent for any changes; age, gender, spelling. You’ll also receive your specified race shirt. Any size changes will have to wait until after the race and will depend on availability.
Your Timing Chip is a single –use commemorative Chip that is yours to keep following the race. Your Chip must be affixed to your running shoe laces in order for your net time to register and be eligible for any awards.
Also included in your packet: Race Morning Instruction Sheet and Pasta Tickets [if pre-ordered].
COURSE RELATED INFORMATION
ARE STROLLERS ALLOWED?
Strollers are not allowed in the Half Marathon. Strollers are allowed in the 5K. In the 5K, participants with strollers will be directed to line up at the rear of Start Corral.
ARE HEADPHONES ALLOWED?
Headphones are allowed, but strongly discouraged, due to participant safety concern.
ARE PETS ALLOWED?
No pets are allowed in any of the races.
IS THERE A TIME LIMIT?
Half Marathon Course will remain open for 3 1/2 hours.
OTHER COURSE RELATED REGULATIONS
Bib # must be worn and visible on front for entry into tunnel to LP Field to Finish Line.
Vanilla bean GU will be available for Half Marathon on course at 7.5 Mile Please help us by tossing the empty GU packet in the trash receptacle.
Fluid Stops as follows:
Half Marathon: Water & Gatorade at 2.5M, 5M, 7.5M, & 10M. Water only at 1M & 12M
5K: Water just past the halfway point
Port-a-Pots: On Course Half Marathon only at 2.5M & 10M
